Photofacial for Sun Damage on Woman Before After

IPL™ PhotoFacial

The Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) PhotoFacial is a non-ablative procedure that eliminates age spots, sun damage, redness, acne scars and more. The procedure can be applied anywhere on the body, but is mostly used on the face, neck, chest, shoulders and hands.

IPL helps restore the skin’s youthful glow by treating the unwanted “reds” and “browns” that dull the complexion, improving overall tone and texture, and minimizing pore size for an overall brighter complexion.

On a biological level the wavelength spectrum used in IPL targets the tiny pockets of undesirable pigment in the skin. The hemoglobin (red) and melanin (brown) in these pockets absorbs the light, causing them to heat up and fragment, becoming waste or dead cells. Then the skins own specialized cells known as “phagocytes”, mobilize to remove this waste and the dead cells, revealing a clearer and more youthful complexion.

With various settings and different hand pieces, we can create a customized treatment that is just right for your skin type and addresses your concerns. IPL is used to treat:

Photoaging | Sun Damage | Rosacea | Spider Veins | Acne Scaring | Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation | Skin Tone | Skin Texture | Overall Complexion

Treatment & Results

The entire procedure lasts approximately 30 minutes. The procedure involves only minimal discomfort. Some patients experience redness and swelling post-treatment, but this resolves quickly. The benefits of the treatment are most often seen gradually in the weeks following the procedure.

There is no recovery time required for IPL ™, and patients can immediately resume their normal daily activities post-treatment.

It is critical to avoid the sun for several days and to wear plenty of sun protection for at least two weeks. IPL treatment can give you excellent results for up to a year, but it is imperative that your skin is protected in the first few weeks following you IPL treatment.
