    Micro-Needling with PRP

    2 is Better than 1

    What is PRP?

Platelet rich plasma treatments have been a growing trend among aesthetic practices across the country.  This popular treatment makes headlines every time a celebrity icon such as Kim Kardashian gives the treatment five stars.  Despite the prevalence of PRP many people still have questions about platelet rich plasma and how it benefits their skin.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?

PRP contains a highly concentrated number of platelets and cytokines.  These platelets release a complex mixture of eight potent growth factors that stimulate cell growth and conduct signals to help regenerate the skin. Cytokines, proteins that are key in cell signaling, encourage the body to rebuild damaged tissue which promotes the healing of soft tissue and the growth of new skin. These nutrients work wonders for the skin when they can reach the deep layers of the dermis.

    Micro-needling & PRP

Micro-needling utilizes multiple fine needles to penetrate the skin to increase collagen production and to promote skin rejuvenation.  Micro-needling as a standalone treatment can increase collagen by 200% and up to 600% when a topical growth factor serum is applied.  It was designed to treat common skin concerns such as fine line, wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone and texture. Micro-needling initiates the skin’s natural repair process by creating micro-injuries in the skin.  When platelet rich plasma penetrates these tiny channels, it can work deep within the skin’s layers.  The benefits are greatly enhanced when micro-needling and PRP are used in conjunction as they can improve the skin’s renewal cycle and increase your collagen by 1000%.

What Can I Expect During the Treatment?

Step 1: Your blood is drawn by a Certified Aesthetic Nurse.

Step 2: The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet rich plasma, serum, white blood cells and red blood cells.

Step 3: The platelets are removed from the centrifuge.

Step 4: Your aesthetician will apply the platelets to your face and then micro-needle them into your skin.

Step 5: Three passes of micro-needling is performed over the face.

Step 6: You will leave the serum on your face for at least four hours after the treatment.

Step 7: One Treatment per month for 3 months is ideal followed by 1 per year for maintenance.

Micro-needling and PRP is an ideal treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, scars, stretch marks on all skin types.  This all over facial rejuvenation results in younger, tighter looking skin that delivers incredible benefits that last up to two years.
