Glycolic Acid Peel

Our Glycolic Acid Peel here at Bella Body is one of our most popular treatments. Glycolic acid is part of the alpha hydroxyl family and is derived from sugar cane, known as a fruit acid.  It works wonders at removing the rougher dryer skin on the surface, revealing softer and more vibrant skin underneath.  This specific acid is well known for alleviating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and is also effective in combating acne.

Similar to other chemical peels, the Glycolic Acid Peel can provide major benefits to your skin by reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles, addressing ongoing issues with acne and combating oily skin.

Your medical aesthetician will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to apply and neutralize your peel. There is minimal downtime for glycolic acid peels.  Many patients report no side effects but mild redness and itchiness can occur. Most side effects subside after the first 48 hours and you can resume daily activities immediately.

You will rapidly see the results of your Glycolic Acid Peel. You will notice a visible reduction in the appearance of your fine lines and wrinkles. If you are using the Glycolic Acid Peel to combat acne, you will notice your skin is significantly less oily and much clearer in the weeks following your treatment. Here at Bella Body we recommend you receive Glycolic Peels on for routine maintenance once a month.

We advise against using harsh exfoliants for 48 hours post-treatment. It is also highly recommended that you liberally apply daily sun protection with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher.
